Garden Designs

This service is for those who would like completed, to-scale, planting plans and plant lists. It consists of two phases:

Phase 1: Client Meeting & Concept Plan

An initial on-site meeting will be scheduled to go over the project and the client's vision. Specific areas within the site will also be measured and photographed during the visit. After the meeting, a design brief will be sent to the client outlining the project, timelines, deliverables, and cost.

Example of a garden concept plan

Once the client agrees to the design brief, a scaled concept plan will be produced that outlines preliminary garden layouts, including trees, shrubs, and perennial plant groupings. This drawing will give a general impression of the design's scale and overall shape.

A listing of the plant material used within the concept plan with photographs of each plant will be provided. A preliminary plant list will also be produced that outlines the plants used within the design in greater detail.

Phase 2: Planting Plan & Plant List

In this phase, a planting plan will be produced that identifies every plant within the design, their numbers, and their respective locations. The plant list will also be updated to reflect the detailed information found within the planting plan. These two documents can then be used to field quotes for materials and installation by a third party, or can be used by the client to install the garden(s) themselves.

Plant Sourcing & Estimate

After completing a design, I will also provide an estimate for the plant material if I were to source it from my suppliers.

Estimates are good for 30 days, unless the design is completed in the fall with a planned spring installation date.
